Failure Breeds Frustration, So Don’t Fail just Persist
It is not a matter of keeping on doing the same thing, but a matter of keeping going till you find the right thing, and then keep doing that.
In our “fast food” society, persistence is a rare attribute, but it is one to be cultivated to overcome frustration and journey towards success.
Is there really such a thing as failure? I have used the quote before – “in the history of everything that works, there was a time when it didn’t.”(Leo, West Wing) History tells us that many great scientists, inventors, even composers, had many “failures” before, and as well as, their successes. It is their success that we all remember, so did the failures really exist?
What if we were to perceive that there were no failures, only processes of elimination of the lesser choices on the path to the higher good journey? Would the way you looked at your day change if you said to yourself “There are No failures”?
It is said the definition of insanity is to keep doing the same thing and expecting a different result. If the choices you are making are not achieving your goal, that is not failure, it is incorrect choices for the goal, so change the choices. Success in created from a series of correct choices. If you are not sure how to make different choices, or what those choices need to be, look at those who have gone that path before, what did they do, who did they associate with, how did they talk to themselves about their own worth and goals, is the timeframe you have set for success realistic?
When you learn to make choices that keep you moving towards success, and accept that in the process there may be some “detours” along the way, that are not failures but lessons, then any frustration you may feel will be energizing and motivating.
