This book by Jerry Pat Bolton is available on lulu.com. Jerry is an avid contributor on Authors Den.
Though many of us have had tough lives, not many could tell their story in such a way as to make the reader want to keep turning the pages to see what happens next, and thinking please don't do that or please don't let that happen. Jerry Pat Bolton survives an abusive childhood, though barely, only to live a self-destructive life of drug and alcohol abuse for many of his young adult years. This story of relationships, dysfunctional childhood, and mending, though not a happy tale, is a triumph that not all abused children obtain.
Page 302 will always stand out in my memory as one of the most poignant poems I have ever read. I wonder if it was his first. This is the first verse:
Yep, Lark. That was my first poem. I still have the business card I wrote it on. I have lost literately everything during those years, but somehow I managed to hold on to the poem. Thank you very much for the review of the book.
I will, I will. But time is my master and I have little time for reading. I'm with Roger, you might have fleshed it out a bit more because Jerry is always teasing us about his past and his poems and leaves me wondering just what those ghosts are that haunt him so much. I will get to the book in time.

Nice review, but you definitely leave me wanting more. I always admire someone who knows how to entice... but seriously, you could have added a little more by way of review. Still, knowing what I do of Jerry's inimitable style, this might just be enough to make me want to delve deeper into this autobiography.
