Politics should not be taken too seriously as they are a result of our needs and convenience.

We talk of our politics, the political stands we take. But the fact of the matter is that these result from rather petty considerations. We believe that we tie ourselves to them on very principled grounds. But the fact of the matter is that we have fallen into the trap of a political lineage by chance, by familial compulsion, economic need or merely for convenience. Once in that trap, which does not seem to be just a trap initially, we try to build reasons or philosophies that support our positions and choices. Sometimes the philosophies we have concocted turn out to be very impressive and then it is expedient for us to push them through to whatever extent we can as they will provide us with enough clout to carve out impressive intellectual reputations. Some of the best thinkers could be seen as merely trying to fight to a finish in order to successfully build their altars. Our politics, or political positions, should normally turn out to be no more than the politics of convenience. I say this because man and the social system he has made with such care is itself a result of his need for a life of convenience. Convenience is always the first subconscious consideration that has driven people towards seemingly holier goals. The nobler side of man is more often than not a feigned side. It is not natural for man or any other animal to be noble. Nobility is thrust upon us by need. Theories are constructed with care to support our needs; politics are contrived with great care to help us build those impeccable images that would make people kiss the dust beneath our feet.

That I hope soon to be extinct dinosaur, our government, is bludgeoned and beaten as thoroughly as the freedom of the law lets me without jail time.
