Don't sacrifice Today on the altar of Tomorrow

 Contentment

Is the Joy
Of not needing
To be in a constant state
Of Happiness
Because being Content
With Inner Peace
I experience the Joy
Of constantly
Being Happy!

I was listening to a Lecture where the woman said, at the end of the day most people would ask

'How happy was I today'
Rather than
'Did I do my best to be happy today'

But there are other questions less 'fast food'!
- Can I recognise 'happy'?
- Do I know what 'happy' is to me?
- Do I know how 'happy' feels, must it always include 'fireworks emotions' for me to recognise it?
- Is 'happy' an end goal, or how the journey on the way to my goals feels?
- Do I need to feel 'happy' all the time, or am I 'happy' with contentment; because then I might be happier more often.

In Sales, there is a term 'buyer remorse', its a bit like the feeling on December 26th after you have invested months into December 25th. The higher the expectation, the more likely the disappointment.

Similarly, the more you expect to experience 'happy', have 'happy' in external experiences, as a constant daily emotion, the less likely you will be able to see 'happy' in the moment by moments of your life; to know it internally, heart and Soul.

Setting goals, having dreams, making plans are all important and motivating. Enjoying the Now as well as the potential future is where learning to be content, will bring true happiness.

Don't sacrifice Today on the altar of Tomorrow. Where you are now, is where you need to be, to arrive at the Tomorrow you deserve. Be contentedly 'happy' with that and you will go the distance, speed bumps, detours, and super highways all!
