It is not how life is treating you.

People are always asking us, “So; how is life treating you?” This has become a cliché. We are in charge of our own personal destinies and we write the chapters of our personal life book. We are also responsible for the choices and decisions that we make along are life journey. The question should be: “How are you treating your life?”

Are you in control of your mind or is your mind in control of you. In order to be in control of our life we need to be in control and be aware of our thoughts and actions. Our thoughts lead to feelings and our feelings lead to actions and actions lead to results. The results whether good or bad begin with a thought.

As toddlers till the age of seven our minds were programmed with our core belief system. As we grow up, our subconscious mind gets programed with more beliefs that are forced upon us. As a result we turn into an adult with a lot of erroneous beliefs that are not our own and we live our lives from this faulty belief system. It is hard to change our beliefs and it is a lot easier to create new beliefs that we are comfortable with.

During our life journey, we have the choice to engage in self-defeating behaviors or self-enhancing behaviors. Is our behavior destructive or constructive? People who do not have a strong sense of self and are not in control of their mind and life can be controlled by self-damaging addictions, which could be substance, emotional, or addictions of the mind.

We need to get know our true authentic selves and take care of our life. Remember that it is not how life is treating you but instead of how you are treating your life.
