On different occasions I have produced something with my pen in different forms regarding Earth likewise today also I want to tell you something. As geographers we are aware of a fact that environment is getting worse everyday by human activities and it is expected that it will get even more worse with increasing speed if we do not take any action.
Therefore, we should realize our responsibility of preaching awareness about earth and environment and to retard the pace of increasing global warming due to global emissions. We have to tell people that merely words can not bring any change we have to prove everything practically and make them realise that Global Warming and Climate Change are issues of every individual living on the earth.
In this regard here I propose idea of designing our near future with respect to climate change and environmental issues which are putting huge impact on our society. following questions may arise in your minds while reading this article.
Term “Design of Future” tends to denote the plan and strategies for tomorrow which will make huge impact on global warming either our policies will increase speed of changing climate or they will pull the rate down of global warming.
Global Emissions is a term used for measuring total amount of emission by human activities in form of industries, vehicles, chemicals, intoxicants and other gases in the atmosphere. According to United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) “At the global scale, the key greenhouse gases emitted by human activities are:
Carbon dioxide (CO2) - Fossil fuel use is the primary source of CO2. The way in which people use land is also an important source of CO2, especially when it involves deforestation. Land can also remove CO2 from the atmosphere through reforestation, improvement of soils, and other activities.
Methane (CH4) - Agricultural activities, waste management, and energy use all contribute to CH4emissions.
Nitrous oxide (N2O) - Agricultural activities, such as fertilizer use, are the primary source of N2O emissions.
Fluorinated gases (F-gases) - Industrial processes, refrigeration, and the use of a variety of consumer products contribute to emissions of F-gases, which include hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs), perfluorocarbons (PFCs), and sulfur hexafluoride (SF6).
Whenever a new business is launched, before launching companies survey and then design the plan of their business now what we have to do is we have just add one more thing in our surveys that the place where a business is going to be set survey officers must take care of environment they must ensure that with their business atmosphere or environment of the area will not be disturbed and they should suggest policy makers that they should pay their services and devote their services for sake of environmental protection.
Owners of industries, factories, oil companies and transporters must charge forward with Geographical Approach by reducing emissions of harmful gases and chemicals for the atmosphere.
Cities and towns must be planned well and greenery and plantation should be done by roadside and streets and small parks should be built. For homes they should make it mandatory to have a tree and flowers in each house, in this way we can make greener cities.
As an institution or as an individual everyone can play qual role for mother earth.
