The Bible tells us we could have the desires of my heart. In addition it tells us ask for what we wanted, but also says we do not “get” our desires because we asked amiss – that is, the way we asked was all wrong. As though breaking a code, I found what I needed to know in the Bible.

For years I studied everything I put my hands on, looking for the right way to ask for my desires. I attended churches, seminars, workshops, retreats – read books, listened to scores of tapes and other media looking for answers to my many questions. I obtained volumes of information and included it in my fund of knowledge. I found I could talk about these things I learned. However, on the first Monday morning after New Year’s Day in 1997, I got up after a wonderful night of sleep with one question on my mind. And that question applied to every item I touched that day. All the items I touched were concepts I had examined over the years. What was my question? I wanted to know how to do the things the concepts suggested. I looked at each concept and asked, “How do I do this?” For instance, the 103rd Psalm starts with the statement “Bless the LORD oh my soul and all that is within me, bless his holy name”. I wanted to know, “Just how do I bless the LORD?” Another statement in Ephesians 5 tells us to imitate God as little children imitate their fathers. While these items or concepts are in the Bible, I found numerous of statements urging readers to do something without instructions on how to do it. Even the most relevant material I found in response to my question “left me hanging” many times. Yes, I’m talking about Neville. In one of his lectures he told listeners, “Educate your imagination”. He said to do this and went on to his next point. I wanted to know how to educate my imagination. As I pondered the question I saw I had devoted years to educating my intellect – even obtaining a couple of academic degrees after educating my intellect in specific areas. Yet I had not invested even an hour consciously and knowingly educating my imagination. I had not ever thought about educating my imagination prior to this. This question came up in 2006-2007 while I developed a set of workshops for the Dare To Assume Lecture and Workshop Series. I searched the Internet for information, hoping to find another workshop or another book. Finding nothing, I turned to the power within me, asking, “How do I educate my imagination?” Sitting quietly at my computer, I let a flood of information rise up in me. It was as though I was listening for a response to my question, and then I keyed in the outline. I presented that outline in an online conference “The Cutting Edge” in May 2008. “Educate Your Imagination Daily”, the inaugural program, was launched in June 2008. Reflecting on the outline, it looks like a 25-year project yet to be developed. Yet I am still working with concepts from the inaugural program. I developed the fundamentals of Imagination Education to incorporate the awareness of being a person who is aware of the ever-present Energy available to me so I might convert the formless and unconditioned to formed things and experiences in my visible world. This ever-present energy is the Omnipresence. I began to look at the Omnipresence as the atmosphere where I live, move about and express myself. I recognize the Omnipresence as the invisible world, my inner life experience I access only with my Imagination - the Image that acts. I see the ever-present Energy – Omnipresence as the place where I am Imagination – the Creative Power that accesses the infinite possibilities for all the experiences in my world. Recognizing that everything is always here now, I recognize also that all the desires of my heart are always within me in every present moment.
