Info on the British serial killer, Stephen Morris Hartley
Stephen Morris Hartley is a serial killer based in the United Kingdom, and is better known as 'The Slayer of Scarr Mountain'. Despite his many crimes, Stephen remains a squeamish geek with a passion for model railways, Albanian underground techno, revolting home-made pizza's, and sci-fi. He has an equally geeky girlfriend called Emma, who is completely unaware of his homicidal tendencies. Stephen is also involved with a local group interested in buses, and experiences intense rivalry within its ranks. He has been described as looking 'like an angry geography teacher'.
Stephen's modus operandi is to abduct victims from off of the streets, usually near to railway stations, and then immediately drug them via use of a tranquilising gun. The victims are transported to Stephen's cellar, where they are often kept alive for weeks at a time, depending on their interactions with the killer. Occasionally, Stephen becomes very fond of his victims; at least one is granted her freedom without any further harm. Others can find themselves being slowly bored to death by Stephen's frequent monologues concerning sci-fi programmes, model steam engines, or the Albanian techno band 'Godjite Puls', and will eventually come to embrace death as some sort of blessed relief.
Stephen Morris Hartley is the main character in 'The Dead Winter Mountain Murders', and its short prequel, 'The Dead Winter Mountain Murders - Part Zero: The Runaway'.
