Understanding the balance of good and bad

Life happens to place us in situations that we have no control over, things happen, people leave and we don't always get to choose who, what, why or when. If we aren't careful, we let the fact we have no control rule how we feel and determine the level of happiness in our life. It is only when we find the core understanding of balance that we find the ability to cope with everything out of our hands.

Balance is a very important aspect of life, we need the bad as much as we hope for the good. At times the bad makes the good even better, without experiencing a little of the bad stuff how could be appreciate the full extent of the good?

When you find yourself in a situation that feels out of your control, that overwhelms how you feel about life and makes you feel as though you have nothing left, try as hard as you can to re-focus your mind on the good. Being alive is good and that is such a simple blessing to keep in mind. No matter how hopeless the bad can feel it is NEVER the final destination, at times it is the start of something brand new.

The fear of the bad can stop you from appreciating the good too, nobody gets through life without challenges; it is merely how we deal with them when they arise. Don't let your mind trick you into believing that it is the worst thing on earth and you are alone, someone, somewhere has survived it or is going through it. Nothing bad in life can last forever as long as you don't give it that power.

Somehow I don't really ever want to see bad balance good. Whenever I can turn that into good that's what I'll try to do. Life is too short to spend any time on bad, because it's wasted.
