While cleaning out some old files I came across an 81/2 x 11 canary lined sheet of paper on which I had inscribed some notes I had jotted down some thirty to forty years ago. Written in pencil utilizing the Palmer Method of Penmanship what follows is probably my first attempt at poetry.
I would like to share it with you today.

So do poems-
Anyone can write poems
All you have to do is spell
And take poetic license
so if it doesn't come out OK-
No one gives a shit anyway.

Seems that way back then... I was a poet and didn't know it.
That's a good one! I shudder to think what I must have written when I was love smitten in high school. I'd better not find one of those.
Some of the poets here need that very narrow (1 inch wide) notepad that my mother gave me. Up at the top was printed: "A notepad for narrow-minded bastards."
Neil Armstrong played the Dissolution of America Card After His Return From Space-- the Military Dishonor Card. He had a very messy DIVORCE after a military Platoon Experience for his wife and family.
