Simple Ideas On How To Decorate Your Home

With the New Year approaching we are all looking forward to a fresh start, and what better place to start than with giving your home a new lease of life? Sometimes the simplest of solutions can make the biggest impact and transform your home and all without breaking the bank!

A Lick Of Paint

Painting is one of the most cost-effective ways of making a stunning change to your walls. It’s estimated that if you repaint all of the walls in your home, it should cost you approximately £150 to £200 (based on a three bedroom house). Paint will give your walls a cleaner, fresher look and will cover up any nicks and dents that may have emerged over the years. If you’re really stretched for cash, why not make a feature wall and opt for a two-tone colour scheme.

Decorative Ornaments

If your rooms are feeling a bit empty and void of character, why not pick out some funky Decorative Ornaments to add a little more personality to your home? Shops like TXMaxx and The Range offer some fantastic and unique decorative ornaments that are sur to add a bit of glamour and style to your dwelling in no time and without huge expense. Think statement pieces!

Light It Up

Lighting has always been referred to as the ideal way to project a desired mood with very little cost. Buying a fresh new lampshade and replacing mismatched table lamps with stylish matching ones. Similarly, use mirrors to reflect light throughout your entire room.

Cover Up

If you can’t afford a new sofa why not buy a cover for it? There are so many colours and designs when it comes to sofa cover-ups. They work by fitting over your existing furniture (they come in single, double and three seaters) and transforming a dull and ageing sofa into a new, more colourful one. Similarly, try Ikea or Dunelm Mill for vibrant and exciting cushion covers to go with your newly covered sofa for a complete style overhaul.

Transform Your Windows

Why update your entire windows when you can cheaply create a focal point in any room by purchasing a roller blind for a minimal effort and maximum impact solution to boring windows?

Create Some Art

Consider in investing in wall décor that has been pre-framed or even a canvas. Ready to hang artwork is massively popular at the moment and you don’t have to be an amazing artist to have some fab pieces on your walls to add a little warmth and character. If you are feeling a little more creative then certainly consider getting crafty and paint, draw, collage or stitch some personalised art to your walls.

Scale It Up

Even if you have a small house, there is no reason why you can’t add some larger pieces of furniture or artwork to add a dynamic atmosphere to your space.

Storage

Small spaces don’t always equal having to live without being able to store essential items. Being clever with the way you arrange your storage space can help you maximise your space without compromising on functionality
