A look at the Women's March by a participant.

After only one day in office people are afraid. Afraid of their president who, after just one day in office, shows a serious mental illness. His paranoia, lies and misconstructions of truth is a major cause for alarm not only in the United States but around the world. Yesterday the people took action to show their distaste, fear and resistance. I was lucky enough to participate in the Women’s March that took place in Lexington, Kentucky. Upwards of 10,000 women and men of all races, ages and physical ability marched a one and a half mile route through Lexington. Even the Lexington police who blocked the side streets and ensured the safety of the marchers were in good spirits--smiling and shaking the hands of those walking by. Signs urging equal rights, solidarity, living wages, and health care shared space with those that read “Save America-impeach Trump.”

The atmosphere was electric as speaker after speaker spoke of the looming destruction of the American way of life at the hands of a man who prefers the leadership of a Russian butcher and strives to imitate him.

I was pleased to march with Kentucky’s Secretary of State and other notables including Kentucky Poet Laureate George Ella Lyon, State Representative Kelly Flood, Senator Reggie Thomas and award winning author Silas House. This was a huge event in American history with over 2 million marchers around the country, in over 600 individual marches along with other massive marches stretching from Africa, Europe and Asia. I hope Mr. Trump realizes that this is only the first of many. It is obvious that his pride is sorely wounded and he is stunned that he does not have approval of the vast majority of the people—rather he has the collective disgust of the nation to deal with.

I am so glad that this is happening and that you participated in Kentucky. I wasn't able to attend the small, 20,000, women who participated here in Houston, but I stand by those who did and encourage them to continue until Mr. Trump either changes or feels uncomfortable enough to step down.

I am appalled upon reading some of the reasons that people voted for him--all the wrong reasons--his willingness to say anything--his promises (quite often contradictory)--putting people in their places--unwillingness to accept errors in judgment, etc. etc.

I would encourage everyone to sign all of the online petitions (you don't have to donate--that's part of the problem) that you agree with. I've seen that petitions have been changing lawmakers' minds on quite a few issues recently. Lawmakers who seem to pay attention to petitions and letters, as well as phone calls, private conversation with them in their districts. We can change bad bills into good laws. Trump can't veto them all.

A Guide to Chinese Affairs by Robert Liu

This is a political treatise that deals with the China issue from a completely new perspective. Disparaging as he may sound, from page to page, toward "the old system" and the Communist Party's various wiles, the author demonstrates his mysteriously
