The lack of sensation (neuropathy) affects the entire body with time and treatment. A basic explanation of the term Neuropathy to share.

If someone has diabetes, that individual has had a blood sugar issue for a long time. He or she should be in regular consultation with a doctor, to help reduce the blood sugar level. This expert / writer or author is not a doctor but he knows that high blood levels are harmful to all of us. Excessive blood sugar level can affect every part or organ in the body. Uncontrolled blood sugar level can cause nerve damages in the Charcol's joints or the musculocutanous nerves, that may include nerves in the shoulder, the neck, brain and heart. Such damages can progress to cause heart diseases (like a heart attack) and stroke if under no control. About 70% of diabetics are known to die from heart attacks and stroke, as observed on death certificates. Excessive blood sugar can affect every part or organ in the body. Sugar that we eat from food every day, that cannot be filtered by the kidneys; will accumulate in the blood stream that supplies all parts of the body. That unfiltered blood loaded with sugar causes nerve damages on it's path in every organ of the body, a process that we refer to as Neuropathy. Those nerve damages will have an impact on the entire body, like in the eyes, brain, heart, digestive system, sexual organs (causing disfunction), and in the peripheral areas (hands and feet). Therefore neuropathy is a serious and dangerous consequence of diabetes that we must all be aware of; that can have an impact on the entire body, may be more in certain areas than in others.
It is a fact the loss of sensation (neuropathy) can easily be felt in the hands and feet, but the nerve damages can be present in every section, organ and parts of the body beyond our imagination and unknowingly to a diabetic. Neuropathy can exist with time and treatment for any diabetic. Learn to manage your blood sugar level well in order to minimize neuropathy. Please check "Prolonging True Lives."
