Burt Reynolds said:
I was invited to play poker with Frank Sinatra and his friends in the back room of a restaurant. We heard the loud sound of glasses crashing to the floor and breaking. The manager started yelling at the bus boy named Hector.
Sinatra called the manager over. “How much does each glass cost?”
“A dollar each.”
Sinatra pulled out his roll of cash. “Bring me a thousand dollars worth.”
When the glasses arrived Sinatra said to Hector, “Smash every one of those damned glasses on the floor.”
As the bewildered Hector started smashing the glasses, Sinatra told the manager, “If I come in here and don’t see Hector working, I’ll tell all my friends to never eat here again.”
I got up and headed toward the door. ‘Where are you going, Burt?” Sinatra called out.
“I’ve got my Frank Sinatra story,” I told him.
“Sit down and play cards.”
