Use of master piece word which has a sort of standing of its own in our life.

Correct.. Correct.. Bind on more correct

“Correct .. correct .. correct ..! What is this correct? When he says, you say

‘correct’. When I say, you say ‘correct’. How can we both be correct? One of my

friends fondly shouted at me.

“Correct,” when I started to say he interrupted.

“Oh, again correct.”

“Correct’. When we all are said to be for correct, why are you scaring of correct?” I

said without giving him a chance to utter a word.

“Correct..”

“Oh..”

“Here, by saying ‘correct’, I mean your asking is ‘correct”.

“Can’t you say any other word to say so? English language is rich in synonyms.”

“Correct is correct. Correct is correct when it is correct. Correct also gives you a

chance to correct yourself if you are not correct in the light of a more correct – the

ruling and supreme correct, well accepted and binding correct—although you think

yourself of being correct.

This universe is made up of many corrects. Look at the sun, the moon, the stars, the

oceans, mountains, plains, forests, rivers, ponds, hills – all are corrects of their own.

These corrects make the universe good for living.

Your eyes, your hands, your fingers, your legs, your nose, your head, other limbs – all

are corrects of their own. All these corrects make you a human being.

One’s correct may not be the correct of another. Each one can live on his own

correct. At the same time, both of you can live together under a supreme correct too.

But, the conflicts occur when one correct attempts to overpower the other correct.

Some times, correct or corrects may have to give way for the supremacy of a more

correct. Correct is hard and painful. So it is correct. Some times, correct is

criticized.

Correct has original and duplicate. Original correct is the correct ‘correct’ and

the duplicate is the pretending correct.

Correct needs tolerance. Correct has the correct when it has tolerance. Intolerance is

incorrect.

“You are correct.”

“There you are.”

“Can’t you change it?”

“Correct will be corrected in the change of time. When yesterday’s luxury becomes

today’s need, when yesterday’s vulgarity becomes today’s morale, correct has no

other way but to be corrected. Our reluctance and antagonism to recognize another

correct is our malediction.

Our presumption is ‘I am correct, I am only correct! This is the basic reason of all

conflicts and problems. Our this presumption is a psychological position which falls

into four pattern, in the management and public relations view point, as analyzed

in the book titled ‘I’m OK – You’re OK’.

Although people around us fall in the four patterns of “I’m not OK, you’re not OK;

I’m not OK, you’re OK; I’m OK, you’re not OK, and I’m OK, you’re OK”, the third

position people make our life hard and tensions. The only solution is to shift to the

fourth position of “I’m OK, You’re OK”. Shifting to this position is not easy. It

requires an understanding, listening and tolerant mind. When will we be able to think

“I’m OK, You’re OK” or ‘I’m correct, You’re correct’ and work according to this?”

Tailpiece:- ‘Correct’ is my current masterpiece word. Before this ‘correct’, it was

“Aiwa, sahi, okay, right, teek hai, acha, uvvu, and shari” according to the language

in which the conversation progresses. ‘Correct’ remained with me for a long time.

All others were now seemed seasonal as they left from time to time.

Some of these words had been boomeranged me sarcastically in the form of

nicknames. With the help of the masterpiece word, I used to encourage the people

who narrate the events that they witnessed and heard of or their personal problems in

a natural way, without hesitation and interruptions. It gives them an impression that I

am giving them a peaceful hearing and I am with them in their joy and sorrow. This

is a sort of nod and is a green signal for them to go ahead.

Once, I was at home on vacation after living in North India for a few years. Recalling

the old kitchen parliament –held after supper almost everyday, attended by all sub

junior and senior members of the joint family, during when all socio-economic-

political situation of the neighbourhood as well as the world at large were discussed—

mother started saying the developments that taken place in our family and in the

neighbourhood in my years of absence. In between her non-stop speech, very often I

said: ‘Acha’ .. ‘acha’ (good .. good).

When I left the kitchen, my father sitting in the front verandah, listening to our

conversation, asked my mother: “During the conversation, why is he calling ‘acha,

acha’ very often?’

Mother said” “Oh, poor my son! How affectionate he is to you! You used to nag

him. Didn’t you hear? He has only one psalm, ‘achan, achan’ (father, father)!’

Epiphany by Gary Stephens

“We’re going to use nine megaton warheads in space and we’re not sure they’re large enough to be effective. Why would you even consider using kiloton-range surface-to-air warheads as back-up?” The answer was succinct. “Because they’re all we have.”
