They had a second round of whisky, except Zivit that had no intention to finish up her first drink, and kept sipping her drink from time to time.

'What went wrong between you and Yaniv?' She took advantage of the short lull to bring up to light, the most intriguing question that interested her and her husband.

'You can imagine that I'm not so eager to talk about it, but if I won't tell you my side of the story than his twisted version will dominate the delegation's talk.' Oron remarked with a smile relief mixed with some embarrassment, he did not like to recall it.

'Well it ended up with this transfer thank God, and I've got rid of an extremely unbearable type of a man. I guess he would've been more tolerable if his wife accepted to move with him to Jijiga, but she returned home and left him all alone here at his advanced age. I'd a relationship with a local wench, Melanish her name and he was terribly jealous; that's in fact is the second significant reason to his unbearable and abusive behavior, and that's why it all started.'

The thrilling adventure

Synopsis

The plot of this novel takes place during the beginning of the 60s of the previous century; its background is the close military ties between Ethiopia under the rule of Emperor Haile Selassie and the Israeli armed forces.

Captain Elad Daphnie is sent to Ethiopia, to join the military delegation in this East African country as an infantry and demolition expert. After thirty six hours of a roundabout flight over the Mediterranean Sea to south Turkey, a stop in Teheran and circling Saudi Arabia over the Indian Ocean, he lands in Nairobi Kenya, and resumes his flight to Addis Abbaba with the Ethiopian airlines. He meets Lieutenant Colonel Josh Paldi the military delegation's head, has an interview with the military attaché, and meets his crew of experts, which includes a physical training officer Captain Arnon, and is headed by major Degani. That's the type of a commando training crew that works with the different units of the Ethiopian army.

He travels to the town of Awash with his crew, where they are supposed to train companies of the Ethiopian third division, but after a week he has to replace another demolition officer in the eastern town of Jijiga, as the latter quarreled with his crew's head.

Major Yaniv his new crew head is an unbearable type, and Daphnie despite being an easygoing person gets in trouble with Major Yaniv too; and how he is overcoming the hurdles, which Major Yaniv puts on his path you'll find out in the book's last chapters.
