I thoroughly enjoyed ‘Island Secrets’ for its off-the-beaten-path adventure and vivid descriptions. The story’s leisurely-paced beginning gives the reader a chance to soak up the sun and rich history of Chincoteague Island:

The setting’s ties to swarthy pirates; its tourist spots Ginger and her husband, Beau, frequent; eateries; geographic details.

When Ginger finds a medallion on the beach believed to have been a remnant of a pirate’s buried treasure, the story veers onto untrammeled territory via paranormal activity and criminal intent instigated by two local shysters.

Although Ginger and Beau get more than they bargain for during their stay, it’s to the reader’s advantage they make friends with Millie and Mason. Why? The author includes Millie’s recipe for clam chowder.

I highly recommend booking a reading vacation on Chincoteague Island by turning the pages of ‘Island Secrets’.
