After being in an emotional coma, I've suddenly awakened with unexplainable energy and desire to catch up on all I've put on the shelf - and do it now!

HAVE I DIED OR REBORN WITH SECOND CHANCE?
Pushing 80 next month (athletic, hyperactive jock and health freak who feels/looks way younger) I have no explanation and am a total loss for whatever is happening. Maybe it’s happened to you. If so, do tell.
After being in an emotional coma, I’ve awakened to catch up on 17 years and do all the things I’ve wanted either all my life or for the last 20 years – and I’m doing it. Paris once more for the road; finish my book, tweak my pretty (per my trainer) “perfect” (for my age), drive again, maybe even date…
All I know, without any doubt or reservation, is that I’m doing all the stuff I want to do. The insatiable desire and energy (even more) is there, thousand fold so I’m going for it!
Am I grateful? You bet! God is really good to me.
All of a sudden, after 17 years as a “transplant” from California to Boston after having burned myself out as a workaholic PR/media relations specialist, I got a heart attack and stopped me in my tracks. A “stress” heart attack: perfectly clean body, in great shape. A “super achiever, type A,” I ran marathons to “chill out.” That’s how much energy I had; I was an adrenalin junkie and loved every minute of my life and the magic I created in Santa Monica and Los Angeles.
Until, one day…
And so I made a choice: Live or die. Start fresh. Somewhere else. Clean slate.
And I chose Boston. Why? I like cold weather; I was a skier. Besides, my only kid was attending Babson, a private, pricey private college and I would, at least be close to him. We were both very independent and I never, ever thought I’d cramp his style. And he, would not have it cramped as well. As a matter of fact, it was his idea for me to consider moving to Boston, a city I liked. I never would have moved here unless he’d suggest it. That’s my style; our style. He (son of mine that he is) made it very clear: “Great, Mom. Move to Boston, but not in with me”! I was not offended. I’m no helicopter, neurotic Jewish Mother. Not my style.
So, roll forward: I’ve had one hell of a time adjusting to this beautiful (architecturally) city, but not to the people: right out of “Stepford Wives”: cold, unfriendly, rude. Blame it on the climate; I’ve stopped taking it personally. As a very positive person who always looks at the positive side of life, I can say that Boston has been incredibly good to me. And, slowly but surely, it is I who has changed and just given Bostonians the benefit of the doubt.
I love myself and that’s good enough. I’m friendly, outgoing and happy. My energy is good and, given the opportunity, I share it. Life is good. Oh, so very, very good.
