Poem Artwork

For long troublesome years

black people have fought hard to stand

on the same grounds as th next man,

overcoming the struggle against racism, prejudice, discrimination-every type of -ism that exists in this world.

And when we do accomplish goals and receive victory,

I continue to hear complaints from my own people that troubles me.

"Why can't I do this? Why am I still living in this poverty stricken condition?"

Yeah, we can blame the white man for planting these seeds in this unfertile earth, but it's our turn to uproot what is trying to  grow allowing a chance for rebirth.

We can no longer continue to complain

for that will only bring us more pain.

:Let's show the world that "Colored People's Time" does not exist

and with GOd's children acting as one body,

we surely can not miss...

a chance to live free of all worries,

giving our children the provisions they need.

I know it's in my soul to make a change,

you can choose to follow but I know I will lead.

So, the next time someone asks me "What time is it?"

Its time to take a stand against the unregenerated man.

I'll rise for my ancestors and state firmly, We can't and must not travel along this path forever, my people. It's either NOW or NEVER."

When you get to where you are going...tell someone to save the Native Americans too!
We are all created in the image of GOD...and need to treat everyone equal. Shine on Little One, as your words give Hope!

Karma Bank to Following By Listening by Chiemi

These song lyrics and art are tales, tides and twinkling lights - tunes telling stories of warmth and sun, city and sand, paths that lead, and the coins we can keep in the Karma Bank. Spirit's been bypassed for sorrow, dreaming of a better tomorrow .
