Look Into My Soul And Tell Me What You See
a poem by Lorraine Watkins Hulse

“Poetry”

Poetry is writing about one’s feelings and experiences in their lives or what they have dreamed. It is a way to escape the perils of life and land oneself in a make believe world where you are the one in control. Poetry brings things alive with a stroke of a pen that brings emotions out of you that where hidden where no one could find them. Poetry is also an expression of love, death, happiness, sadness, and pursuit of happiness.
[1]Look Into My Soul (2009) A poem written by Lorraine Hulse
Look into my soul and tell me what you see,
What’s about me that intrigue you? Excite you?
It is my face, my hair, my eyes, or my hands?
It is the way I talk or the way I walk?
Look into my soul and tell me what you see,
What’s different about me?
That you’ve never known before?
It is the tone or the softness of my voice?
[2]It is the curves of my body?
Look into my soul and tell me what you see,
It is the way I feel and think about the universe,
Or the way I feel about you? Or how you feel about me?
Is it the way I laugh or cry with tears?
Is it the way I dance and move to the
Sound of a beat?
Look into my soul, and tell me what you see.
Look very closely, and tell me what you see.

First of all I'm a say you got a nice Dianna Ross thing going on with that hair. That's just poetic all on its on. I enjoyed the piece and I like the way its asks to look into the narrators soul and also flips that to make one look at themself. It's got a really nice flow and all around soulfood message. Very Nice Sista Hulse & Keep bring the Word!

When I look into your soul,I see a woman who has a trillon dollar smile that can be seen for miles and miles. When I look into your soul,I see a talented woman with nice chocolate skin,a beautiful spirit from deep within.I enjoy reading this poem.Poetry is sort of like doing yoga.Instead of stretching your body,a person stretches their hearts, minds and souls onto the mat of a piece of paper.Poetry is indeed a wonderful part of literature.Welcome to the Den and I hope to see more poems from you in the near future.Take care

Even though I have never seen you face to face what I see as I look at your picture and read your words is enthusiasm for life,a simple yet profound joy. I see a depth of wisdom and a passion for humanity and most important I see a beautful spiritual woman. Wonderful poem Lorraine.

With Love,
Cindy
