Born in 1954 in the Big Apple, New York City, I lived in that wonderful place until I was 13 when we headed for the suburbs.
There I stayed until I settled in with my late husband and we moved to Virginia.
Northern Virginia has been home since 1978. There we raised three wonderful children. My eldest Rachel recently returned from Africa after two years in the Peace Corps, my middle one, Joshua is a chef and resides in, of course, New York City as does Rachel. My youngest Jeremy recently graduated from Lincoln Tech and devotes himself to cars the way Josh does food.
In June of 2004 I was joyfully wed to Neil Savitch who is my biggest fan and best friend.
I penned my first poem at age 8 and my first short story at age 12. I have always had a voracious appetite for reading, curbed and hampered only by the need to write. I do believe writing, as artistry is a driving need, not a decision.
