We all have those special friends that we share everything with. This is for them! Sometimes having a good friend to share troubles with is all a person needs. In between writing new works, this one is first in a series of poems I call, Refreshing Oldies. Each of them taken from my first book, a volume of 100... I wrote this a long time ago after a shark attack on a friend while surfing. This is dedicated to Kim. Remember when once in school you always got up from your desk, went to the always full of shavings pencil sharpener, well… it’s time to empty the cont... Many believe we have the ability to create our own ethereal comfort. For some, it is easy. For others, often so much baggage hinders the process. whence these dense trees? "Shattered" was published in Poetry Pages Vol 4. This poem was written for a contest with these suppled lines.
