Eugene C. Flinn has been writing fiction and non-fiction for well over half a century. His most recent books are two collections of short stories, One More For the Road: 40 Tales of Ireland, Hoboken, and Other Faraway Places, and It Happened in Hoboken: Comic Tales of the Waterfront City. He has also published a comic novel, The inn of the Seventy-Seven Clocks, and a satirical novel, Penfield Prep, which he wrote with his wife, Patricia Flinn.  His non-fiction has appeared in a number of national magazines, including Life and Good-Housekeeping. He was a Broadway theater critic for six years and a former prize-winning newspaper reporter and editor. His Ph.D. was from St. John's University, where he concentrated on the works of the cynic, Ambrose Bierce. During World War II, he served in the United States Army in France and Germany. He currently teaches literature and creative writing at New Jersey City University.  

Eugene C. Flinn earned a Ph.D. from St John's University in American Literature. He won numerous writing awards, including the New Jersey Press Club Award and the Hudson County Press Award for news and feature stories. He also won Best Poet Award for his poem, Casey At the Bat, a poetic sequel celebrating the original poem's centennial.
