After eight years in the Air Force, ran printing and publishing business for many years, which allowed me to indulge my passion for writing. Have published 14 books of poetry, 8 novels, a book of humour, and one of travel. Also published a monthly magazine for three years in the 1980's.
In 2005-6 taught Chinese college students English at Wenzhou Medical College, and completed a book of poems based on my experiences in China. Have released two DVD's called China Times, Vols. I & II, and four DVD's consisting of readings of the narrative works.
My influences are the English classical poets, William Blake, Samuel Taylor Coleridge, Lord Byron, Algernon Charles Swinburne, Dante Gabriel Rossetti, Elizabeth Barret Browning, Robert Browning, John Keats, Rudyard Kipling, Alfred Noyes, John Masefield, Gerard Manley Hopkins, and so on. I'm a great believer in rhyme and metre.
