Samantha is a unique artist only using red ink in her drawings. She comes across a red feather pen enchanted never to run out of ink but she soon discovers that the drawings created from the pen come to life.
I'm all about Native Americans! As a writer and filmmaker of Cherokee and Choctaw descent, I focus on telling the stories of Native people in print and video. I now live in beautiful central California, home of the Chumash People.

Information
With BA and MA degrees in TV/Film production and more than 25 years experience, I am passionate about Native American history, culture and contemporary issues. This passion informs and motivates my work as a writer and filmmaker. I helped launch the PathFinders series of teen novels for Native Voices Books. These short Native novels feature Native American teen main characters who go on adventures and learn about their own tribal cultures. In 2017 I published Lands of our Ancestors, an historical novel providing a Native American perspective on the Spanish Mission era in California.

Accomplishments
I have won several awards from the American Indian Film Festival for films I've written, directed and/or produced. Also won a Children's Moonbeam award for my full-color book Native American Night Before Christmas. The new series of teen novels is getting rave reviews from educators and critics! In 2015 my short animated film We Are All Related won Best Animation in San Francisco at the American Indian Film Festival. I am looking for a publisher to turn this into a children's picture book.
