Bio I was born and grew up in the north-west of The Netherlands in 1977. As a young boy I started working first at the local farms and later in the supermarkets, as a cutter in a meat factory, a co-driver for a trucker company and as a freelance sports photographer. I attended college in Amsterdam and graduated as a copywriter. After college, I quickly secured a position as a photographer on cruise ships and was shipped out in the spring of 2005. For almost three years I travelled extensively, sailing from St. Petersburg to Hawaii and from Norway to Venezuela. As a young boy I was very fond of reading, especially the books of Anthony Horowitz and, in my teens, the classics like Edgar Allen Poe, Bram Stoker and H.P. Lovecraft. I always wanted to write my own stories and I tried from time to time, but really committed to it when I was 18. During my twenties I wrote several short literary stories before stepping over to horror. Finding the latter much more enjoyable, I submitted a short story to Holland SF, a small Dutch magazine dedicated to science fiction, fantasy and horror, and was subsequently published. Because of my travels, my later publications were somewhat scattered over the course of two years. Now settled down in Holland with my girlfriend, I recommenced my writing, but this time in the English language, seeking a much broader audience and as a stepping stone for my future projects. Recently, I self-published my first short story collection 'Beneath Dark Waters'. It has 10 short horror stories set in the reclaimed lands of North-Western Holland (available at www.floatingrobes.com). Additionally, I started a project on European mythology called European Ghost (www.europeanghost.com). As an added project I am currently finishing my first novel 'When the ground is too hard for digging'. It will soon be available at your local online bookstore.
