A major influence in my life has been animal activism and I have been a vegetarian all my adult life. The second major influence is fantasy and Science Fiction. I love all types of fiction but am partial to fantasy, sword and sorcery and dragons! I am also a substitute school teacher and have always been interested in teaching. My children's book "The Unhappy Little Dragon, Lessons Begin" is a story about a young dragon named Happy who constantly loses control of his fire.  I'm hoping this book is a lot of fun to read, and in addition to that, I wrote the story to inspire children that face challenges and help them understand their talents and gifts. The story is meant to teach them that with patience and a bit of work, most challenges can be overcome. My illustrator Leslie Mathis has illustrated all of my children's books and is a very talented artist. I also write for an adult readership and enjoy writing about romance and high adventure!
