I served more than 40 years in Scouting as a Venturer Leader (youth aged 14-18) and noticed they lacked good adventure books about the sorts of activities they loved. My adventure books form a trilogy of adventure around an unlikely youth called Scott Morrow who becomes the hero the nation needs and wants when fate steps in. Finally, when the chips are down in his last adventure, Scott makes a stance and chooses the hero he wants to be. The books are Only The Brave Dare, Canyon, and A Rite Of Passage. My Afterlife series is different to my Scott Morrow adventure series and is written specifrically for adults. In Finding Thomas, a teenager must save his father and his boss after a Police Commisisoner turns rogue and sets out to have them murdered. This action thriller was written as a way of explaining near death experiences and what happens when we die. How do you move the spirits of people on who die too quickly? This was the conundrum I unravelled with my fifth book, One Last Concert. More than 30 young choristers in the UK are on their way to Australia to give a series of concerts Downunder. They meet a horrible but early demise on the way to the airport. Some time later a young couple buy the now decommissioned church where the boys used to sing and find the spirits of the boys are still here! This is the story of a couple as they unite a village which unites a nation to send the boys on. At some time in our lives we all encounter deja vu - what if your past memories were linked to a former life? I explored this in detail in Time Voyager where a ferry deckhand has recurring nightmares. Eventually he finds out through past life regression he was a sailor on the destroyer HMAS Voyager which was sliced in two by the aircraft carrier HMAS Melbourne in 1964 killing 82 people. The main character Connor McBride brings three families together whose lives will forever be changed. I have a background as a newspaper Journalist and also as a Public Affairs Officer who worked for all three tiers of the Australian Government. Also, I have served in the Rural Fire Service, the State Emergency Services and recently retired from the Army Reserve after serving 43 years. My background brings a rich tapestry of experience to my writing and therefore makes Scott Morrow the believable youth who could live next door to you. Also, the scenes I paint and the various themes I construct are based on real areas and current events within Australia.

I have been awarded the Reserve Forces Decoration for services to Australia's Reserve Army; the Australian Active Service Medal for my deployments to East Timor with the United Nations Transitional Authority east Timor (UNTAET) and the Iraq campaign medal. In Scouting, I hold the Silver Koala Award for distinguished service to youth.
