Hi everyone, My nonfiction book is based solely on my want, my need to 'fill-in' the chapters of my life that was, and still is, blank, empty of the long term memory that so many people take for granted. My eariler life has only three scenes that are as clear and detailed as a projector flashing it out on a theaters big screen. I lost my mother, father, also my two sisters but not due to death, they had all dissappeared, what happened to our family, to me, and why? These questions plagued my mind. Our feeble little home in WV had exploded and the tiny fragments blew everywhere, but what ignited the spark that blew us so far apart, seperated our family both body and mind. My lack of memory was due to a bicycle accident, on a steep mountain in the Appalachian ridge on the West side of WV, I was 13 years old. I  began decsending a steep roadway when the chain loosened and no longer did I have brakes. I came to a halt after facing a car ascending the mountain- -headon. Upon impact I was thrown over the car, landing on the pavement behind the vehicle, where I rolled several yards on the rough pavement. The impact brought about epilepsy.The trama had embedded major scarring on the area of the brain that stores 'long-term' memory, the front left temporal lobe.  My brain had bounced inside my skull, like water in a balloon but my skull did not crack. It was due to this that the immediate onset of seizure 'blank-outs' had not been noticed. My book, my story, begins as I lay on a gurney, prepared for brain surgery in 1995. There was a chance that the left area would be permanently blocked, perhaps errasing those few scenes forever. It was then I decided to view those Chapters one more time, and if the surgery is successful then I will go back, ask questions and demand answers to fill in those "Unread Chaptes".
