Graduate of the University of Wisconsin School of Journalism, award-winning journalist in Vermont, several years in corporate communications with IBM. Established David Schaefer & Co. Public Relations in 1984.  A Hemingway fan, Schaefer sailed from Vermont to Cuba in 1998 in his 32-foot sloop "Dream Weaver" to research SAILING TO HEMINGWAY'S CUBA (Sheridan House Publishing). Contributor to several sailing magazines and SAILNET. The action/adventure e-novel CUBA RUN is based on experiences in south Florida and CUBA (Wings-press.com, Amazon.com, etc.) released September 2010.  SCUBA certified on Roatan, Honduras.  Lives in Shelburne, Vermont and St. Petersburg, Florida.
