I started writing when I was seventeen years old. I always had dreams that I thought would do great as books. I had a group of friends that would meet up every few days and tell each other about our dreams. I always added my friends in as an extra draw for them and would tell the dream like they were all in it with me. This caused them to be so involved that I thought how great it would be to make a book and have characters in it where all the readers could have someone to relate too as well. I wrote on a trilogy for many years. If I got blocked on one book I would right on one of the others until I thought of details for the first one. I had all three manuscripts nearly finished when they were destroyed by someone. I was heartbroken and gave up writing for nearly ten years. Finally several of my friends and family member inspired me to start writing again. I'm writing the same story I started all those years ago, but as I have grown so has the book. There are so many differences that it barely looks like the same book it was so many years ago, and it sounds so much better. :) It took two years but I finished my very first manuscript, with the help of my wonderful Muse. After a few rejections and a few acceptances that were not for me I found what I thought was a good deal and published my first novel. Alas, the publisher made the price so high that no one will ever buy my book, with the exception of friends and family. So I decided to go ahead and write my second novel and I would just find some place else, hopefully, to publish it. I started chatting with people on Amazon discussion boards and found a wonderful group of authors, editors, and readers that welcomed me with open arms and started to help me. They are very supportive and willing to help, and I know that I can look to them anytime I need advice or a helpful shove in the right direction. One of the people I was in contact with on there was a publisher of a small press. She bought me out of my bad contract and published both my first and second books. I am hoping to have a literary agent for another book and have been working on the third book in this series along with two other books. For me it's easier to e able to jump back and forth as the muse leads. It's a possibility that it may take longer for one to be finished, but I find that writers block takes much longer.
