Grew up in suburban St. Louis, riding bikes and climbing trees. Earned an undergraduate degree in Philosophy and Religion, spent a semester in seminary and changed my mind. Went back to college, earned my M.A. and Ph.D. in Social Science Education. Converted to Islam. Married a cute guy from Thailand. Gave birth to six sons, one at a time. Taught in an Islamic school. Decided to quit teaching and start writing. One published non-fiction about jihad, which was the focus of my doctoral dissertation. First novel, Innocent People, was about an American Muslim family in the year after 9/11. The next five novels--Echoes, Rebounding, Turbulence, Ripples, and Silence--followed a young man, Joshua Adams, as he converted to Islam, fought his demons, raised his family, and grew old with the love of his life alongside him. Currently live in Kentucky with the cute guy from Thailand and our two youngest, one of whom starts college next fall. Looking forward to having more grandchildren and writing more books.
