Leamon E. Scott was born November 19, 1950 in Los Angeles, California. Growing up in Watts, where he attended the public school system, he developed a keen sense of creativity at an early age. Reading and writing became viable outlets in a neighborhood    plagued with many social ills and inequalities. Upon graduating David Starr Jordan High school in 1968, Leamon attended San Fernando Valley State College during the socially turbulent sixties. It was there he developed a voice about Black and White issues, social justice perspectives and the civil rights struggle. Playing the saxophone, he studied under the tutelage of renowned NBC studio musician, Phil Sobel. During the late sixties and seventies he performed locally in various venues. After graduating from California State University Dominguez Hills in 1974 with a Bachelors of Arts degree in music and a minor in Afro-American Studies, Leamon began his career as a civil servant with Los Angeles County government. He worked in various social services and health departments until rising to a management position in Adult Protective Services; finally retiring after 32 years of service with Los Angeles and Riverside counties. During his lifetime he has fought his share of battles against injustice, survived the adversities of addiction, racism, and accepted the “transformation” that leads to inner peace.  He has compiled an impressive repertoire of original poems and letters that speak to a plethora of deep social connectivity issues. Currently, he is writing and promoting original songs that he penned as a lyricist; while performing with his jazz duo, S & R Jazz Connection. Leamon fully aspires to license songs to artists, labels or publishing companies, as well as continue writing fiction/poetry.  A Seed for Cora Lee is Leamon’s first endeavor into “long-range” writing. He creatively poured his soul into telling the story in such a manner that the reader will want to know - what’s next? The plot is quickly moved along with many riveting events to pull the reader into the forefront of ever-changing malevolent scenes, while spinetingling visualizations leap from the pages! Layered with supportive subplots, the perpetual concept of good versus evil is convoluted by supernatural events that carry the reader on a psychological adventure filled with uncertain doubt and obstinate skepticism. Finally, the reader is left to evaluate his or her own ability to cope and manage the ideologies presented in this story; particularly, in the context of our ever fragile and evolving human existence.
