I wrote my first poem at age 12. The childhood gift of a toy camera sparked my life-long interest in photography.  I'm a 'Baby-Boomer'; born in Tempe, AZ.; raised in the San Fernando Valley of So. California where I earned B.A. degrees in History and Religious Studies, a MPA in Health, and a Secondary Teaching Credential. Most of my professional career was spent in the San Francisco Bay Area. I now live in Gig Harbor, WA., with my life partner & our kitty. We have both found a spiritual home at the Center for Spiritual Living in Tacoma. I teach classes there on Mary Magdalene, lead spiritual study groups and participate in a variety of liturgical celebrations. Cindie contributes her financial planning  expertise as Treasurer of the Board of Trustees. We both sing in the choir.  I have published two collections of poetry & prose - the first about an external journey; the second, about an internal journey: ”The Casual Commuter ~ Riding With You on Your Way to Work”: a unique collection of vignettes about the people, situations & experiences of commuting via that unique Bay Area informal transit system called the Casual Carpool from eight different addresses in five cities, on a personal odyssey over 25 years through four Bay Area Counties. Whew!  “Trembling at the Threshold ~ Encountering the Divine in Daily Life":  a collection of poetry & prose about personal transitory glimpses of the ethereal realm, which permeates the world, and is available to us all in unexpected moments. My POETRY has been published in West Coast and national anthologies; my STORIES have appeared in California and Pacific Northwest newspapers; my PHOTOGRAPHY has appeared in regional publications and has received awards in both local and international contests.
