The symbiotic pattern of evolution is everywhere and allows us a very different and fascinating window into the way symbiotic viruses work, since all viruses are symbiotic, including those involved in our human reproduction.
I report science and have contributed to many publications and held senior editorial positions.
Background
Information
I am a journalist in the News Bureau at the University of Maryland, Baltimore. There are six professional schools: law, pharmacy, dentistry, nursing, social work, and medicine and affiliated with the University of Maryland Medical Center. I mostly focus on medical and science stories for our pubs and websites, plus pitching to media.
I've contributed to many different publications, mostly as a science and environment writer. I have also had senior editorial positions at the University of Md. Biotech Institute and the ARS Public Information Staff, and extensive contract work at the American Farmland Trust, National Institutes of Health, and the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture in Nigeria, associated with the World Bank.
I spent more than five years then with newspapers
That experience has folded into my present public affairs beat at UMBaltimore. I cover science in the pharmacy, dental and nursing schools, as well as business stories from our Office of Research and Development.
My first book is A Night at the Belvedere and my second is, Fatal Deadline is a newspaper story with humor (what else, right?) Both have been reviewed by professionals with praise. I am looking for the right publisher.
You name the science, I've covered it. [ click on my old site: http://home.earthlink.net/~berberichsm ]
