I'm a published poet who writes for both children and adults also, but I especially enjoy writing for children. I write many poems with rhyme, rhythm/metre, which I enjoy. I was encouraged to write by the children in my local school.

I write poetry for all age groups, but particularly for children.
I especially like to write my poems with rhyme and rhythm for three important reasons:
1 Children said that they liked poems written in this way and I wrote my work for their enjoyment first and foremost.
2 Rhythm and rhyme in poetry helps younger children develop phonemic awareness, a key literacy skill.
3 Rhythm and rhyme enhances poetry and makes it sparkle as a performance art.
I started writing about five years ago and have written 850 poems, 344 of which were published last year in five books, and another eight books have been published this year and are on my website.
