Poems to Perform, Book 2: My poems, written with rhyme and excellent rhythm/metre are much sought after and last year went into 188 countries of the world.  Teachers worldwide have been using them with children of every age group, and this is one of my top books.  I love to write stories for children in rhyme and rhythm, and especially I love to paint pictures in words.  Eg in my poem "The Awakening" the sun gently awakens the world:  "As swift as the wind she breathes living gold, and with soft, warming breath she drives out the cold."  My most-loved poem for Remembrance Day is in this book:  "Flower of the Eternal Sleep".  This is the poppy who watches with the ones who weep.  The poppies watched from the fields during the First World War:  "You, whose lives, so short in bloom, watched the bloodshed, death and gloom."  The poppy trembled to the sound of guns which tore to death beloved sons. Her blood red petals also fluttered, died before their time, just as did these young lives were taken before their time.  Now the poppy silently her vigil keeps.  It is a very stirring poem and people of every age love it.  2000 visitors came to this poem on my website within two hours on Remembrance Day and I think it was used for school assemblies all over Britain.  This isn't a gloomy book at all.  No, no, no.  My other most popular poem is in it:  "The Joy of Snowboarding".  I describe not only the action of the snowboarder but the inner feeling of the man in the poem:  I say:  "With heart now pounding in his chest, this man, on showboard's at his best."  There are lots of funny poems in this book too and many poems which have a strong rhythm which you can dance to after you've read the poem.   You can buy this book from my Website for £4.75 by simply Googling JOSIE'S POEMS and going to my main website bookshop.  Payment is by Paypal.
