I was born and eventually came back to Brooklyn, New York. I wrote non-fiction for six years on the old west and was nominated for a Spur Award. I started writing fiction, essays and poetry in 2002. As to other writers, here are my thoughts: Jorge Francisco Isidoro Luis Borges has a story, I forget the name. He is certainly a capable and connective writer. I rather thought well of Burgess' "A Clockwork Orange" his use of Cockney and invented dialect. Not kidding here but I asked Noam Chomsky to go in with me on a deconstruct of the novel and he rather thought it too much work, same with the minefield that is Faulkner's abstractions. "Of Mice and Men" touched a cord in me. "In Cold Blood" written soundly, could have been more. What started me writing fiction was the oddest combination: "On the Road" and the movie "A Beautiful Mind." Paul Bowles was and is a short story writer.
