A husband. A writer. A poet. An author. I lived by the term undefined. Born in Newport, Rhode Island I have endured many of life's obstacles. Still, too many, my age and my life experience do not connect. I am 26 years old and have suffered from childhood cancer, sexual abuse, alcohol abuse and much more. The above experiences have not broken me but only made me stronger, a cliche, but truth nonetheless. At the age of 7 I began writing poetry, reciting at local church functions. Although my poetry was of religious background, I have grown to develop as a writer and poet touching on many subjects from sexual abuse to overcoming unhealthy relationships. Inspiring others or giving others hope to lead and live successful, self satisfactory lives is a passion that keeps me thriving daily. This past April (2012) I married the woman of my dreams. Not only is she the best thing that has ever happened to me but she encourages me to continue writing and changing the world, as I say, "One word at a time". My experience and background in poetry, inspirational teaching is as such: Reciting poems in various churches Collaborating with a local Women's Resource Center where I performed my piece titled "Memories"-speaking about my experience as a witness of Domestic Abuse Teaching a lecture about Defiant Lifestyles (for a local University) Speaking to a group of high school students/book signing at an educational summer camp held at another local University 2 self-published poetry books; True Emotions of a Man & Confessions of a Nice Guy Developing a high school mentoring cirriculum where I worked with students to assist with thier graduation requirements (1 student wrote an autobiography, another student produced an autobiographical magazine and lastly a student going to culinary school produced a cookbook)   Join me as I continue my work and hope to achieve not just local success but state, regional, national and worldwide success also!
