When I wrote ths book in 2000, I was concerned about children having access to the Internet and to chat rooms where "you can be anyone you want." Here we are many years later and the situation with children talking freely to stangers on the Internet
I write because I have to. If not, I'd go nuts. There are way too many people and things living inside my head that would claw their way out in less legal ways if I didn't tell their stories. Or so my therapist tells me.
My major influences are John Fischer, Annie Dillard, Shusako Endo, Philip Yancey, Richard Heinlein, Ed McBain, Francis Schaeffer, Stephen R. Donaldson, the Wildcard series, John Donne, T.S. Eliot, C.S. Lewis, George MacDonald, G.K. Chesterton, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Zora Neale Hurston, Langston Hughes, and Ernest Hemingway.
