I've lived in the southwest for over thirty years. I was unfamiliar with Native American life before I moved to Arizona. I took some courses, got interested in the mix of cultures. I am a romantic and began to see the possibilities in my writing of white and Native American protaganists.The inbuilt contradictions become conflicts in themselves alongside other dramatic pushes and pulls. I have eight books published and five of them are multicultural love stories. As American ethnicities continue to mix, some of these contradictions will ease, but for now, I have at least one more story to write. My latest, White River, is a sequel to Blue Turquoise, White Shell. There is another generation between the two that I have some ideas for.
