It's funny how we end up playing roles in life we never expected! I wasn't one of those little girls who tried to teach her dolls the ABC's, but somewhere along the way I became convicted that helping children learn to read is a reason I was put on this earth. And caregiving? Not this cossetted only child. But there's the rub...ONLY child. When Mom got Alzheimer's, I became her caregiver by default.
Poor Mom.
And, as I cried out repeatedly to anyone who would listen, "POOR ME!"
But God is so good, so very good. When we cry out to Him (even in self-pity) He listens, helps, and provides answers to our prayers; blessings that exceed anything we could have dreamed for ourselves.
I always wanted to be a writer. The Lord saw that desire and inbreathed it with His love for precious elderly folks and tenderhearted little children. I have been blessed.
Accomplishments
BS in Education and MS in Curriculum and Instruction from Emporia State University. Trained and taught in an early intervention for struggling readers called Reading Recovery.
