I wrote my first love song when I was five and my brother still has a copy of it in his wallet. I then went on to form a synth pop band called 'The Naughtiest Girl Was A Monitor', which, before you ask, was named after a collection of Enid Blyton books. We released three singles in the early 80's and an album on vinyl in 2007. My musical influences are everything from Nat King Cole to Stravinsky and Brian Eno. My favourite songwriters are Leonard Cohen and the late, great Scottish Maverick Jackie Leven. I have been a professional sound engineer / producer since 1978 and this led me to work in London where I was involved as a engineer and Director of over 2,000 audio books. I worked with professional actors everyday and they included everyone from Sir John Gielgud to Spike Milligan. My favourite author is Dylan Thomas, whose prose is often overlooked for his poetry and if anyone dropping by on this page has not read or heard Thomas' 'Under Milk Wood' I thoroughly recommend that you do so immediately. It is a piece of writing that will never be bettered as a radio play as long as this world keeps on spinning.

Being alive long enough to find my own writing style for this novel is, to my mind, achievement enough. It was also an honour to have the great British actress Prunella Scales read an audio version of my novel when it was just a short story.
