I'm a Montreal writer. For what are now countless years I've made my living almost entirely from words, from newspaper and magazine journalism to copywriting and translating. I've written fiction throughout most of those years, when I was sure no one was looking. he & She is the first novel t strong-armed myself into publishing. My hair is now white so it is difficult to say which writers have had the most influence on me. Especially when I was young they changed with each new literary discovery. However, none of the following authors ever faded away and disappeared from my list, which includes among others:  Mario Vargas Llosa, Gabriel García Márquez, Anaïs Nin, Patrick O'Brian, Annie Proulx, Philip Roth, Henry Miller, Vladimir Nabokov.
