After working 24 approximate years as a state worker in the Criminal Justice system, Debbie was asked while working as a caseworker at Women's prison to teach an English class.  This renewed her interest in teaching and caused her to finish her 1st Master's degree  in 2001.  Enjoying graduate school, and wanting to be a better teacher, made her keep taking classes, which eventually led to a 2nd Master's in teaching English.  She continued to fill the need of teaching inmates, but red tape hoops now have delayed classes.  Now, she sub teaches K-12, besides doing volunteer work raising money for high school scholarship money.  As a hobby, she has written a short romantic Kindle ficiton book, A Pleasanr Distraction, set in the 1980s.  Her other published accomplishments include academic essays, "Noir Influences in The Naked Spur" published in the Online Canadian journal, Quint, and an essay in Love in Western Film and Television, Lonely Hearts and Happy Trails ("Violence, Vixens, and Virgins: Noir-Like Women in the Stewart/Mann Westerns." ) When not writing or teaching or volunteering, Debbie likes to walk the dogs, jog, or read.    A writing goal would be to have her Kindle book or scripts posted on Amazon Studios made into films, which would of course entail a consulting trip to England or Czechoslovakia!
