I am a licensed preacher/associate minister at my church, of 4 years. I finally accepted my calling to preach the word of God, after running from it for about fifteen years. This took it's toll on me physically, as well as mentally. At first I thought it was the devil messing with me, as usual, as he has all my life. He used my bipolar disorder against me, preyed on my weaknesses. Then God gave me the discernment that it was, indeed, Him who had called me to the ministry. That's when I got scared and ran. It seemed to be a huge, overwhelming job for little ole me. I said, "Lord, I know you don't make mistakes, but could it be that just this one time you did. I'm no public speaker." But, finally I had to yield to the Lord. It was as though I had carried this tremendous, weight on my shoulders all those years, but when I accepted my calling it was such a wonderful, relief! I am a single mother of two sons who are almost twenty years apart in age, 40 and 19. Don't ask! LOL! A grandmother to two grandsons, ages 16 and 13. I was raised with seven brothers, no sisters. I was very shy growing up. I began writing at the age of 30, and started out with poetry. Then I told myself, "Well, I have a strong background in English, and enjoy reading romances, so I bet I could write them. I loved, Danielle Steele. She was my inspiration. I had a high school and junior college education and did very well in school. I also took a correspondence writer's course from Long Ridge Writer's Group. I didn't complete it, but learned a lot from it. So, I wrote two romance book manuscripts and attempted to get one published for quite a while, to no avail. That's when the Lord told me, I wasn't going to get anywhere with those, and that He wanted me to write, exclusively, for Him. Four years later I got published. The Believer's Heart is the first book of my book ministry. I have three others completed. They will all be small, paperback books.
