Writing has been my most effective mode of communication. It helps me formulate my thinking about the world around me and express my thoughts, opinions and passions. Having been born and raised in the Washington, DC area, this is my hometown and the setting for much of my writing. I received a BA from the University of Maryland in Elementary Education and taught first and second grade until I had my children and became a stay-at-home mom for several years. During that time, I began writing a novel, taking creating writing classes and I joined a writers' critique group, of which I am still a part. My writing became more and more important to me as it transitioned from a hobby to a passion. During the next phase in my life, having gone back to work as an administrative and then an executive assistant, I joined two other groups, one a writing group and the other a novel group. I began attending writers' conferences including a week-long writers' workshop each summer. Trudie Fine, the protagonist of my culinary mystery series, popped into my head at one of these summer workshop weeks and she wouldn't leave until I began to put her down on paper. I haven't been able to stop since and have published the three books in the Trudie Fine Mystery Series, "A Fine Fix," "Fine Dining" and "Fine Arts." All three books are available in paperback and eBook from Amazon.com. The first two books are available in all other eBook formats, including barnesandnoble.com Nook, Apple, Sony, etc. as well as in audio book format from Amazon.com, Audible.com and iTunes. "A Fine Fix" is also available in large print paperback.
