My inspiration for writing "The Whispering of the Willows" came from my mom and her siblings, who grew up in a remote area of West Virginia called Big Creek. I am also inspired to write devotionals as a source of encouragement of women in ministry. I think it's important that redemptive stories are shared among Christians and those who don't know Jesus as a way to share about God's great love. I started writing in my 20's when I worked for a then well-known evangelist. Writing was a ministry tool to help those who listened on the radio or watched Christian programming on television. Obviously the mediums for sharing God's Word have changed, yet the Bible hasn't changed and there are many exciting ministry avenues to share about the Lord's goodness.
