As a young girl, growing up in California, I loved the warm summer nights when I could spread out a blanket in the back yard and count the seemingly endless number of shooting stars; making a wish on every one of them. Loving to study the night sky and remembering the thrill of seeing Saturn for the first time through a backyard telescope was an inspiration to write this book. Although being a hopeless romantic, and a Sci-Fi lover certainly would seem to be an unlikely combination, I have tried to give my readers a glimpse into this near-future world which is filled with twists and turns, fears and tears and even a few laughs in hopes of giving a fresh look to a Science Fiction novel. Even after all of the years that have passed since that time, I cannot help but look to the heavens and imagine what could be.
