The Bohemian Adventure novel is Burke’s first work in a planned 9-book series called The Bohemian Odyssey, published by Nightengale Press. Burke said the book “took two years to write, but it took eleven years to actually become a book I can hold in my hand.” He learned the most important lesson authors learn – how to overcome rejection. “There were a lot of rejections. So when I found a publisher and editor, I took full advantage of what I could learn from her,” Burke said, “and this release is the result.” Burke's story was inspired by what he calls “a real-life adventure experience” one summer in northern Michigan, Burke's home state. “I thought I could take the framework of that real experience and then build my own story within it,” Burke said. He had never thought of writing before but, on a chance, took the idea and began to work it through. Burke declined to identify how much of the novel reflected his own actual experiences. “Suffice it to say,” Burke would only say, “I'm not Ted Senario ... yet!”
